Economic development

  • Industrial production (i.e. steel making, mechanical engineering, food processing, and power generation) is the cornerstone of the regional economy. In January-October 2021, the sector was estimated to account for 42.3% of the GRP and 25.7 % of total staff number.

    The regional per capita income was RUB 32,600 in January-September 2021.

The Lipetsk Region is ranked 9th in Russia’s national rankings

In 2022, the Lipetsk Region took 9th place in the National Investment Destination Rating prepared by the Strategic Initiatives Agency and released at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Lipetsk Region improved its ranking to 9th, moving up 2 places.

In April 2022, the ACRA rating agency confirmed the AA(RU) rating (“stable outlook”) of the Lipetsk Region and its bonds.

in the ESG rating by RAEX

In December 2021, the Lipetsk Region became 6th in the ESG rating of Russian regions published by the RAEX rating agency as at the end of 2021. The survey compared Russian regions in terms of ESG risk management in three categories: environment, social risks, and management quality.
