Founded in July 1928, the Dobrinka District is situated in the southeast of the Lipetsk Region.

It borders the Usman District in the west, Gryazi District in the northeast, Tambov Region in the east, and Voronezh Region in the south. The district is divided into 17 communities comprising 116 villages.

The total population amounts to 32,500 people, with the working-age population of 17,500 people. The district hosts 241 businesses of different incorporation forms.
